Educational Objective
Biotechnology combines the use of biology and chemistry to develop products that improve the overall quality of human life. Techniques of biotechnology are used in agriculture, industrial applications, forensics, manufacturing and other industries. A goal of the program is to prepare students for entry-level positions in biotech and pharmaceutical labs, manufacturing labs, or crime labs, just to name a few. 

The Biotechnology training program at Berdan Institute includes biotechnology courses that prepare students to fill positions in the rapidly growing biotechnology sector. Students can learn standard lab operating procedures, biomanufacturing, recombinant protein production and DNA/fingerprinting techniques for positions such as lab technicians, research assistants, microbiology technicians, chemical analysts and more!

Biotechnology courses are divided into eight modules that each include 100 hours of classroom and laboratory time. The Biotechnology training program also includes a 180-hour externship experience. Graduates of the Biotechnology training program receive their diploma and are qualified to work as biotechnicians.
